Panguni Uttiram - பங்குனி உதிரம்
Panguni Uttiram (Meena Uttaraphalguni in Sanskrit) is one
of the few festivals that is significant and important for
several Deities in our temple. It is the Jayanti (Day of
Incarnation) of Lord Ayyappa. It is also an important
festival day for Lord Subramanya (Muruga), as it is on this
day that Sri Valli married Lord Subramanya. On this day
Goddess Mahalakshmi incarnated on earth from the ocean
of milk (after the ocean was churned by the Gods and the
demons) and hence it is celebrated as Mahalakshmi
Jayanti. In Sri Rangam and other Sri Vaishnava temples in
India, the devotional prosaic compositions of Sri Ramanuja
Acharya "Gadya Trayam" are recited this day. On this day
Goddess Parvati in the form of Gowri married Lord Siva in
Kanchipuram and hence this day is also celebrated as the
Gowri Kalyanam day. It is only fitting that we celebrate this
festival in our temple with all the religious grandeur and
partake in the Blessings of all the Gods and Goddesses.

தைப்பூசம் - Thaipusam 30th January

Thaipusam (Tamil: தைப்பூசம்) is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (Jan/Feb). The festival commemorates both the birthday of Murugan (also Subramaniam), the youngest son of god Shiva and his wife Parvati, and the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel (spear) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. Hindus take a vow to offer a kavadi to idol for the purpose of tiding over or averting a great calamity.
In Malaysia Thaipusam celebration mainly at Batu Caves , where attracts million of devotees and tourists.
